It is uncontained, filling every surface and occupying every crevasse.
It is vast, with depths yet to be discovered and life forms still unknown.
It is glorious, with thick weather-worn stems that hold up the sea of green, shielding the ground beneath.
It’s magnificent, giving birth to new life from as little as a mustard seed.
It’s a shame that things only become worthy when they have been exploited to the brink.
